Optimising the autoclave process
Before PA got involved Tulip had identified the autoclave process as a bottleneck for its assembly production. Tulip had tried to optimise this process and the whole production plant, but with insufficent benefits.
The challenge was to optimse the bottleneck and at the same time ensure a smooth interaction with the adjoining processes: the complexity and dynamics between the processes made it difficult - if not impossible - to forecast the negative side-effects.
With PA's production simulation tool Tulip is now capable of forecasting and analysing production in several different sites, and in Tulip's factory in Vejle an update of the production lines has been implemented according to the model's results. Tulip expects to drive more capacity from its fixed assets.
