Speeding up monthly report preparation from six days to two hours

SEB Asset Management (SEB AM) was founded in Denmark at the end of the 1990s and has grown to become one of the largest asset management companies in the country today. During 2000, SEB AM and its largest customer began work on the joint implementation of a portfolio management system called TMS2000. A key element of this collaboration is a monthly report to the customer, which must be delivered by the sixth working day of the month. However, the system was not able to fulfil the reporting needs in its present form.

PA Consulting Group was invited by SEB AM to develop a stand-alone application, capable of handling the monthly reporting requirement. With this new application, it now takes only two hours as opposed to six days to generate the monthly report, and SEB AM can therefore spend the time up to the deadline on quality assurance of the report details rather than their actual production.
