Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS)
From decentralized to centralized IT
Part of the IT operation in Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) is being handled by Scandinavian IT Group (SIG), an independent company. SIG needed to centralize the operation and PA Consulting Group assisted with expertise in project management and sourcing.
Some 250 servers were centralized and 100 servers removed, leading to improved efficiency. The result was an immediate cost saving for SAS of DKK 23 million yearly (about £1.9 million). A Danish-language version of the full case study can be seen by clicking on the PDF file link on the right.
