Case study
Large US-based private equity fund
Performing due diligence on a utility and industrial contractor
In late 2002 a $1.8 billion US private equity fund was considering financing an acquisition and management buy-out of a $500 million utility contracting business. The owner of this business, a large US utility, had acquired it through an earlier merger with another utility and decided to sell control of the target company soon after the merger was completed.
The private equity fund needed expert industry advice during its due diligence process and requested PA Consulting Group's support in forecasting revenues, assessing the operational performance and reviewing customer satisfaction with the targeted utility contractor.
