Sabre’s core business is the distribution of travel marketing technology and solutions, directed at providing travel information to travel agencies, corporate planners and travellers, as well as a reservation system and technology systems to airlines. Sabre's IT outsourcing arm was showing only limited growth so, in 2000, Sabre decided to sell its outsourcing business, outsource its own technology platform and create a long-term partnership with the buyer. PA Consulting Group worked closely with Sabre throughout this complex transaction and was instrumental in ensuring its success. The deal has allowed Sabre to focus on its core leadership areas of travel distribution, marketing services and software products. The company is now well-placed for faster growth and greater profitability in the future.
