Evian
Innovative thinking elevates a global brand
Evian, part of the Danone group of companies, is the brand leader in natural mineral water, both in terms of volume sales and market dominance. With a presence in over 120 countries worldwide, the brand accounts for over 800 million liters of bottled water sold annually.
As part of Evian's strategic development of the brand it needed to stimulate the bottled water market, which had doubled in volume in France since 1970 but has levelled off since 1995. It wanted to lead with an innovative product which supported health trends and the evolving lifestyle of consumers, and which would broaden its international appeal.
In early 1999 PA Consulting Group was invited to present ideas for a new pack, aimed at the needs of consumers on the move that would strengthen the brand worldwide. As a result PA was awarded a contract to develop the new pack, and to facilitate its manufacture and volume roduction. This was achieved on target in the year 2000.
