A/S Storebaelt
A new financial system and interface for payment facilities
The second-longest suspension bridge in the world, The Great Belt Fixed Link, Storebæltsbroen, opened in June 1998. By 1999 almost 7 million cars had crossed the link; some 18,900 cars per day. The company bought a new financial system, Concorde XAL, to become an integrated part of the payment facility. PA Consulting Group assisted as external advisor and member of the management group that carried out the tender and negotiated the contract.
In this period, the chief accountant resigned, so PA also assumed the role of acting chief accountant until a new chief accountant was appointed. This included day-to-day leadership of the accounting department, preparing annual accounts and quarterly budgets.
