Building a transactional Web site and a strategic platform for European growth
A key component of this American bank’s European growth strategy was to expand and develop its existing operation in the UK. In order to keep pace with the global financial services market, the company needed to build a user-friendly, transactional Web site as soon as possible. The bank was also looking for ways to reduce customer acquisition costs, increase customer loyalty and source more data about prospective and existing customers.
PA Consulting Group was invited to help build a credit card Internet operation for the bank in the UK, which would enable customers to apply for cards and manage their accounts on-line. The aim of the project was also to provide a strategic IT platform for growth. Within six months, the PA team had helped to deliver a live e-commerce platform, from planning and design to infrastructure and software.
