£50 million realized in shareholder value following acquisition of Hambros Bank Limited

The post-deal management of an acquired company is clearly a critical factor in a successful acquisition strategy. Yet, in many cases, the resource and planning devoted to such management proves to be insufficient. This is the main reason why some 70 percent of acquisitions are deemed to have failed over time. Société Générale (SG) was determined to avoid that in its acquisition of Hambros Bank Limited.

With PA's help, 95% of the integration program milestones were reached on or ahead of time, and the program cost less than expected. As a result, SG is set to realize some £20 million per year in cost-savings, as well as having an approach that it can use again for future integration projects.
