collaboration on inhalation products

In March 2000, PA formed a collaboration with SkyePharma plc to develop jointly a range of non-CFC-propelled metered dose asthma products - a compelling combination of SkyePharma's drug delivery know-how and PA's device design expertise. The collaboration has now been further enhanced by the formation of Meridica, PA's drug delivery company launched in May 2001. Two new products, Xcelovent™ HFA Budesonide and Xcelovent™ HFA Formoterol, developed as a result of the collaboration, will set new standards for the treatment of chronic asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
