Case study
Lloyds TSB
Award winning transformation of bank's HR structure and operating methodologies
The merger between Lloyds and TSB in 1996 created one of the world's largest banks.
After successfully completing an initial reorganization of the bank, Lloyds TSB's HR function decided to take a close look at its own internal architecture, with the aim of putting HR in the best position to support the future needs of the bank.
PA played an integral part in the project from beginning to end, helping first with building and evaluating models of how the new HR function might look, then with persuading the organization of the validity of change and finally with implementing the agreed changes.
The result was a highly efficient, business-led and commercially minded HR service that can justly claim world-class status.
This work won an Institute of Personnel & Development award, a Human Resources Excellence award and the Best Practice Management award from the Management Consultancies Association.
