Strengthening the IT department to align business and technology

Copenhagen Malmö Port was founded in 2001 in a merger between Københavns Havn and Malmö Hamn. Today it is the leading port and terminal operator in the region. The new company has seen an increase in both turnover and profit and is a model example of a successful merger across the borders of Sweden and Denmark.

To develop its business further, Copenhagen Malmö Port decided it was necessary to strengthen the strategic application of its IT. PA Consulting Group was asked to lead an IT transformation project to drastically improve the ability of IT to support the port's future growth. PA was chosen because of our ability to quickly understand and address key issues and our strong focus on successfully implementing real change.

Following this project, the port's IT department has adopted a new structure, operates more efficient processes and uses better supporting systems, including a help desk. Copenhagen Malmö Port now benefits from effective IT support, and has the ability to deliver key business projects involving IT.
