Building a European e-channel platform for strategic growth

A key component of this US bank’s European growth strategy was to expand and develop its UK operations. In order to keep pace with the global financial services market, there was an immediate need to build a user-friendly transactional portal. PA worked with the bank to develop a new online platform for attracting and serving customers.

In line with the bank’s information-based strategy, the new system captured a wide range of data about user behavior to develop future functionality, personalization of services and targeted marketing. Features have been designed so that they can easily be altered according to emerging behavioral patterns, ensuring ‘browsers’ are turned into customers.

Within six months PA helped to deliver a live Web site that attracted more than one million visitors in the first month, making it the fourth most popular personal finance site in the UK. The scaleable platform and in-house capabilities developed served as a springboard for the bank to expand into other new European markets.
