Cleared for take-off - Implementing Denmark's new Air Traffic Management system

On 29 December 2007 at 00:58:31 hrs, the new Air Traffic Management system in Denmark went live. This marked the culmination of many years of intense development and testing for Naviair, the Danish provider of air navigation services, which has completed one of the largest and most complex IT programmes in Danish history.

Danish airspace is now controlled by a brand new and world leading Air Traffic Management system. The strong combination of Naviair’s technical expertise and PA’s vast experience in the field of project and programme management created a solid framework for the technical design phase, which preceded the system’s inception on 29 December 2007.

The international journal ‘Air Traffic Management’ recently named Naviair the best provider of air navigation services in Scandinavia and the sixth best in the world. With the new system at hand, Naviair is more than ready to defend this position long into the future.
