A leading retail bank - developing a e-banking platform
In the financial services industry, managing customer relationships is a key competitive weapon. Traditionally, customers have interacted with their bank through branches, ATMs and telephones. Now customers have the ability to bank from home via their desktop PCs. One of the UK’s leading retail banks was fully aware that if it was to retain its high-value customers – and attract new ones – it needed to develop a national on-line banking system.
Having developed a pilot system, the client worked with PA Consulting Group to develop a secure and efficient system that was flexible enough to evolve to meet customers’ changing e-banking needs quickly and cheaply. PA developed a solution that used a phased approach to ensure rapid delivery and a short time to market.
The entire project was completed within budget, in just ten months and with the first live release coming six months after the start of the project. The new system has ensured that the bank can meet its customers’ expectations both now and into the future.
