A user-centric approach to policy design and business delivery
An increasingly commom aim of government is to make public services more personalised to the particular needs of individuals, and to increase citizen involvement, both to improve outcomes and to increase levels of satisfaction with services. Nowhere has this been more apparent than in the world of education, which has seen varying degrees of success from a complex variety of policies, ranging from curriculum reform to structural changes designed to enhance choice and incentives for improvement.
In the video on this page we explain our approach to designing and delivering policy – the System Reform Model – which offers a more comprehensive and pragmatic way to enhance outcomes and engage with children, young people and families. It draws on extensive collaboration between PA Consulting Group (PA) and the Strategy, Performance and Analysis Group within the Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF).
While first used in education and children’s services, the model has broader benefits for business delivery and has since been adopted by other departments whose services rely on engaging with their customers to succeed.
