On Thursday 31 March, over 80 sourcing professionals attended our event ‘Corporate business services – achieving the right blend’ to discuss with their peers ways in which organisations can achieve the right blend when implementing Corporate business services.

Corporate business services is the term used to describe the management of business functions in one service delivery organisation across facilities, finance, procurement, HR, business analytics and IT services. CBS organisations are increasingly being used to enhance individual shared services (HR shared services or finance shared services for example) and create new sources of value for the enterprises that they serve.

A short survey undertaken by our event attendees showed that CBS is increasingly on the agenda for organisations looking to reduce operating costs and standardise ways of working to make an organisation more agile in the marketplace. 40% of respondents stated that the procurement function would find it most difficult to be integrated into a CBS organisation.
