A new way forward for Adult Social Care

Faced with increasing demand for social care services, reduced funding and a challenging policy environment, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) Council looked to test externalising a range of Adult Care Services with the open market. The aim was to increase efficiency, reduce costs and support increasing self-directed demand for  adult care delivery.

The council sought PA’s advice on the mix of services to be externalised as well as the most appropriate procurement process and contracting arrangements for these services. PA also advised on the developing business case for externalisation.

Following PA’s work the Council is well placed to reach its value for money and efficiency saving targets for these services.
