Pharmaceutical company - helping with developing a renegotiation strategy for outsourcing

PA Consulting Group was asked for help by a pharmaceutical company when it needed to develop a renegotiation strategy and implement it for an outsourced IT service.

Our client, a leading global pharmaceutical organisation, was restructuring its US sales force to better align to its target markets. These significant organisational changes were expected to impact on the scope and volume of technology support required for the sales force.

PA reviewed the current outsourced service provision against our client's future needs and defined a strategy for renegotiation of the services contract.

In parallel, PA conducted an objective review of our client’s service management organization (SMO), processes and governance and redesigned key elements of the model that were identified as sub-optimal.

The result was defined renegotiation strategy and improved service management model for an outsourced IT service, which met the client's redefined needs.
