"PA helped DAA assess their BCP plans across a number of dimensions and identified a number of areas where improvements could be made. The resulting plans gave DAA greater confidence in their ability to respond to and recover from a variety of incidents."

Improving Business Continuity Planning - Dublin Airport Authority

Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) needed to improve and update their business continuity plans (BCP). There was a need to explore how to improve cross functional collaboration between DAA departments and to ensure that there was a consistent response to disrupting incidents from all DAA staff and divisions.

PA Consulting Group was asked to conduct a diagnostic of the current BCP plans and environment across all airport divisions. A policy statement was created and detailed plans were produced for the Terminal building and for Airside services, using desktop BCP simulation exercises, contingency resources and infrastructure. These proved so successful that a further set of BCP plans and desktop exercises were created for terminal congestion planning.

The DAA were able to 'raise their game' with regard to BCP and incidence response. The BCP desktop simulation exercises were used with DAA staff in discussing responses to incidents and identifying areas of risk. The documented BCP plans were collated into a single repository of plans, incident responses and supporting information needed during an incident.
