The GSMA is the global body for the mobile industry and serves more than 800 of the world’s mobile operators, with a mandate to drive growth. A substantial initiative for the GSMA is to encourage the use of mobile technologies in the delivery of healthcare across the world – so-called ‘mHealth’. As an industry body with such a broad range of concerns, the GSMA will call upon the expertise of others to bolster their own.
PA Consulting Group was asked to support the GSMA by taking an early role in highlighting the major challenges in Policy and Regulation that stand as hurdles to the successful adoption of mHealth. The work covered both developed world and emerging economies. We delivered a detailed report, supported a number of panels and workshops culminating most recently in a one-day seminar at the Mobile World Congress event held in Barcelona, Spain.
To complete this work we drew upon skills across the full breadth of the business - from policy and regulation, to the technologies and delivery mechanisms of healthcare.
“PA’s depth of understanding of the values, pressures and direction of travel for healthcare has helped to set our own direction in driving the adoption of mobile technologies in this important area” Jeanine Vos, Executive Director Mobile Health, GSMA
