The project required complex and delicate manipulation and processing of cells in both large and small volumes of fluid. This provided PA with many challenges which they addressed by creating a diverse project team who worked intimately with CellCoTec's management and lab teams.
PA's team included life scientists to advise on the intricacies and nuances of cell handling and enzyme digestion, while our manufacturing process improvement team created novel machine concepts to overcome the technical challenges.
PA facilitated workshops and team meetings to discuss and agree options, priorities and areas of uncertainty. This work was combined with practical engineering and rapid prototyping to build proof-of-principle test rigs which CellCoTec could evaluate in the laboratory.
PA has a proven track record in taking lab-based processes and successfully and efficiently developing them into automated procedures with reduced process times.
Ian Paling, Chairman and CEO of CellCoTec said: "the Cell Processor is a fundamental element of our commercialisation strategy and we are delighted with the work that PA has carried out to date."
