The largest US-based publicly traded water company – Aqua America - has achieved dramatic growth by acquiring more than 120 companies. While this strategy had been highly successful, the business faced challenges in integrating their services and systems.
Aqua America asked PA Consulting Group to find ways of integrating and enhancing their operations. The goal was to provide improved performance data through a customer service executive dashboard, deliver efficiencies from integration and automation between their service order system and Customer Information System, and develop a system to integrate asset data. Working very closely with the company’s senior management team, we developed and built a number of custom solutions from their intranet and external web site, a solution that automates payment processing and an application that manages three million meter readings a month.
The range of solutions provided by PA reduced costs, provided better business intelligence, improved service and reduced risks from errors, ensuring that the company’s rapid growth is sustainable.
