Peter Elliott, a smart technology expert at PA Consulting Group, has been quoted in The Times ‘Careers in Consulting’ supplement. The article looks at PA’s work advising companies on designing new products, advising on business strategy, finding ways of cutting production costs or improving the efficiency of the supply chain.
Peter comments: "We have had clients who have wanted us to run a workshop on teething problems with the iPhone antennae. Others have asked us to take part in multi-year projects, setting up big computer systems or making major changes in organisation."
Peter also talks specifically about his work advising on one of the world’s largest developments, King Abdullah Economic City in Saudi Arabia. Peter is leading a team of PA experts on incorporating smart technology, such as driverless trains and remote healthcare services, into the city’s infrastructure.
Commenting on the international nature of his work Peter says: "You see all these new places and experience different cultures. It is very exciting. People around the world do business differently. The Scandinavians are more consensus driven, while you meet an Arab from the Middle East two or three times before he will talk about business. I find that fascinating."
