Was green energy just a fad? With cheap oil, Americans buy gas guzzlers again

Debbie Carlson

The Guardian

11 December 2014

PA Consulting Group’s Matt Mooren, an energy expert, is quoted in an article The Guardian, which looks at alernative energy and oil prices.

The article explains that when energy prices fall it is not easy to be green and that as gas prices are the lowest they’ve been in four years, it has increased the sales of vehicles.

Matt says: “Cheaper costs over the past five to six years boosted US solar installations from virtually zero to almost 19 gigawatts now, if you count panels at utilities and those at homes and businesses.”
