Svend Ulrik Nyholm, PA expert in employee productivity, features in an article in Jyllands-Posten on Danes’ productivity in the workplace. According to Svend Ulrik, Danes are becoming increasingly inefficient, not utilising the hours they spend at work.
Svend says: “Various explanations for Denmark’s lack of productivity – such as salary, export and flexibility of working hours – are all relevant but our experience shows that the most vital thing is that the day-to-day manager is present and actually manages the workplace. Without this, there is a risk of wasting valuable time.”
Svend Ulrik adds that if work activities become more focused, productivity could be doubled:
“Only if work activities are focused will they generate actual value for the company. This requires a present manager, who can ensure that work projects don’t get stuck, that employee training programmes are relevant and that meetings are productive.”
