Charles Batchelor
Financial Times
25 April 2012

Dan comments on why the role of information security officer (ISO) can be tricky and how they must create a bridge between the broader business concerns that are the responsibility of the board and the nuts and bolts of keeping information safe.

Dan says: “The ISO is the interface between the business and the board … He may have to tell the board things that it does not want to hear. The ISO has to be a persuader, a strategist and a pragmatist. The job needs social skills.”
