"Companies that enjoy good working relationships with their suppliers on a broad basis are on the whole more likely to find their difficulties with Reach are minimised."

TOBY NICHOLS, SUPPLY CHAIN CONSULTING, PA CONSULTING GROUP

Group aims to improve supply-chain relations

Peter Marsh
Financial Times

This article in the Financial Times highlights the benefits of a positive relationship between a company and its worldwide supply chain. PA’s Toby Nichols, supply chain expert, is quoted in the article.

The article focuses on Rolls Royce and the changes it has made to its supply chain management. Rolls Royce has developed a strong partnering approach with suppliers as it attempts to reduce potential disruptions to production, that may be triggered by suppliers failing to register specialist chemicals under the European Union's new Reach regulations

Toby says there is a link between Rolls-Royce's recent activities to improve relationships with its supply chain and the new regulations: "Companies that enjoy good working relationships with their suppliers on a broad basis are on the whole more likely to find their difficulties with Reach are minimised," he says.
