The article explains that changes in technology will call for different and more specialised skills from the healthcare executive and what this will mean for the workforce of the future.

With changes in the way technology is used in hospital wards and operating rooms, doctors and nurses will need to possess new skills.

Simon explains: “You’re now seeing the surgeon having to interpret preoperative information while simultaneously undertaking the operation.” Simon goes on to say that technology has shifted the role of the surgeon: “There’s a workload associated with their profession now that wasn’t seen before.”
