Renewable power push threatens last two New England reactors

PA's Matt Mooren, an energy markets expert, is quoted in an article in Bloomberg. The article discusses the potential impact of a piece of renewable energy legislation in Massachusetts on nuclear power. 

Commenting on this topic, Matt states: “Historically low wholesale power prices are a bigger threat to nuclear generators than the renewable mandate. 

Matt concludes: The legislation won’t have a major impact on nuclear relative to what natural gas prices are already doing. While it is a negative as it relates to base load nuclear economics, it’s not as big of a negative.
