PA Consulting Group, the leading global management, systems and technology consultancy, today announced key changes to its senior management team, which will take effect from 1 January 2004.
Jon Moynihan, who currently fills the role of both Executive Chairman and CEO, will relinquish the position of CEO and will retain the title of Executive Chairman. Bruce Tindale, PA's Chief Operating Officer, steps up to CEO.
In addition to these changes, Andrew Hooke is named Group Head of Government Services. Alec MacAndrew is named Group Head of Technology, John Buckley is named Chief Operating Officer of PA Ventures, and Todd Filsinger is appointed Head of PA's Energy Practice and Deputy Head of PA's Strategy and Industries Group.
These changes follow an extensive review of the overall management structure and responsibilities in the company with the primary aim of bringing through the next generation of leaders.
Bruce Tindale has been COO since 2000 and his appointment as CEO will mean a seamless transition of responsibilities. Mr Moynihan, commenting on Bruce Tindale's appointment, said:
"In the three years that Bruce has been COO he has steadily expanded his responsibilities and influence within PA and has increasingly made the CEO slot his own so this is very much a natural progression for him.
“At the same time, PA has withstood the down market of the past three years and is in an excellent position to benefit from the upturn we are beginning to see. PA will be facing a number of new issues in 2004 which as Executive Chairman I will need to focus on -- the need to refine its longer term strategy; the need to work on creating and realising value in our rapidly maturing Ventures; and the need to implement a successful longer term succession plan for the top posts in the company. For all these reasons, this is the right time for me to pass the CEO baton to Bruce."
Bruce Tindale has been with PA for 26 years and held several senior management roles, including head of the Business Transformation Group and head of the Global Energy Business. A civil engineer by background, Mr Tindale has extensive experience in project and programme management, having led major change programmes for clients across both the private and public sectors. Mr Tindale, commenting on his appointment, said:
"I am pleased to be taking on the role of CEO. The building blocks for PA's continued success are well established. PA has a unique capability of helping clients with everything from strategy formulation, systems development and operational improvement, all the way through to prototype and product development. I have every confidence that Jon and I, together with the strengthened management team, can continue to take PA down the road to success."
Mr Tindale will focus on driving PA's business forward in its core areas of management, information, and technology consultancy, across industries and worldwide, in particular in the US which is now PA's second-largest market.
Mr Moynihan concluded:
"PA is in very good shape. Bruce's appointment, together with the promotion of a number of our most successful consultants to senior management positions, gives me tremendous confidence that we are well positioned to consolidate PA's reputation as the consultancy that delivers real value to clients."
