Anite Telecoms, the leading Wireless Test Solutions provider, has signed a multi-million-pound contract with wireless technology specialist UbiNetics to supply W-CDMA technology for Anite's 3G Test products.
Anite Telecoms, the market leading supplier of GSM and GPRS development support solutions, will use UbiNetics' W-CDMA transceivers in their 3G air interface products. These products range from signalling test solutions through to radio measurement systems for both development and conformance testing.
Incorporating UbiNetics' 3G technologies into their range of GSM and GPRS test solutions allows Anite to add powerful multi-mode capability to their existing systems, giving a complete solution to 3G terminal manufacturers, protocol stack suppliers, chipset vendors and test labs.
"This contract re-affirms the market leadership of UbiNetics in terms of next generation telecommunications technologies," said Ali Pourtaheri, Chief Executive Officer of UbiNetics. "Anite Telecoms is a formidable player in the communications industry, and we are delighted they have chosen the proven UbiNetics core 3G technologies to incorporate in their future range of test products and services."
He added: "This latest contract simply reinforces our established position as premier 2G and 3G core technology supplier to many of the leading wireless infrastructure manufacturers, network operators and specialist measurement equipment suppliers."
"Anite intends to continue offering development and test solutions with high levels of functionality, flexibility and reliability at the earliest opportunity. This led us to choose UbiNetics as the supplier for our W-CDMA platform" says Anite Telecoms' MD, Nigel Coxon. "The specification of the platform agreed with UbiNetics enables Anite to offer high performance products with a clear upgrade path from GSM, GPRS, and EDGE to 3G".
UbiNetics' is a market leader in the supply of 3GPP technologies incorporated in test and measurement products and services. The current UbiNetics TTM100 3G test mobile has effectively become the de-facto industry standard for testing the UMTS base stations of the world's leading wireless infrastructure manufacturers. The latest models are based on the 3GPP specifications Release 99 adopted by ETSI and ARIB, with a chip rate specification of 3.84 Mcps.
Anite Telecoms has been deeply involved with wireless technology for over 10 years, and since Phase 2 of GSM has been the market leader in providing customer focused products, such as the SAT, RAMS and SAS systems. Anite's ability to rapidly develop well thought-out, differentiated test solutions and deliver them promptly to the market accounts for it taking the vast majority of the GPRS signalling development and test sales in the industry today.
