UbiNetics appoints leading specialist telecoms PR consultancy to drive wireless strategy
Companycare Communications has been appointed as global lead PR and marketing support agency for Cambridge, UK-based UbiNetics, the wireless products subsidiary of PA Consulting Group.
The account, with a budget of more than £200,000, marks a new partnership between two of the world's leading companies in their respective fields - Companycare Communications in telecommunications and IT PR, and UbiNetics in wireless data and voice solutions.
UbiNetics is a next generation wireless communications technology company developing 3G technologies and GSM solutions for wireless data and voice communications applications.
Founded in January 1999 by a group of entrepreneurs from the PA Consulting Group's Wireless Telecommunications Practice, UbiNetics is looking to Companycare's expertise to place it at the forefront of the wireless convergence industry.
"Companycare's unquestionable experience and track record made them the obvious choice for us," said Colin Aitken, Sales & Marketing Director, UbiNetics. "We are focused on establishing and maintaining leadership positions in the emerging mobile data market, and no-one is better placed to help us achieve this than Companycare."
Ian McCann, managing director of Reading-based Companycare Communications, added: "For over 15 years Companycare has been telling the world about how wireless communications will fundamentally change the way we live and do business.
"The wireless revolution is here and developing at a speed no-one could possibly have predicted - and that is thanks to innovative and visionary companies like UbiNetics. They are set to become one of the key players in the future global mobile communications marketplace."
Companycare has already announced a multi-million dollar strategic partnership between UbiNetics and Orange, the UK's most advanced digital mobile phone network. Companycare will also be providing marketing support at major exhibitions worldwide, including last month's CommunicAsia show in Singapore.
