The former Managing Director of Heritage Building Society, Paul Lahiff, and recently awarded Queensland Chief Executive of the year, has rejoined management consulting firm, PA Consulting Group, to head its financial services practice.
With more than 20 years' experience in the finance sector, Mr Lahiff brings to PA Consulting Group an in-depth understanding of regional, national and international financial markets.
According to a spokesman for PA Consulting Group, Mr Lahiff's breadth of industry experience and specialist skills are an invaluable addition to the Group's financial capabilities.
"We are very pleased to welcome Paul back on board. His appointment reinforces PA's strong focus in and knowledge of the banking and finance sector."
At Heritage Building Society, Queensland's largest and Australia's third largest building society, Paul was responsible for the overall management of 104 branches and agencies throughout South East Queensland.
Prior to joining Heritage Building Society in 1994, Mr Lahiff held a number of senior executive positions, both within the corporate centre and at business unit level, with Westpac Banking Corporation in Sydney and London from 1987 to 1994.
Mr Lahiff first joined PA Consulting Group in 1985 as a Senior Consultant and Manager of NSW, Financial Institutions Group, where he was responsible for the management of work with financial institutions.

From 1980 to 1985 Mr Lahiff was the Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director of the Australian Federation of Credit Unions.
Other positions held by Mr Lahiff include Chairman of the Australian Associations of Permanent Building Societies, Director, Queensland Association of Permanent Building Societies and Director, Cashcard Australia Limited.
A Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, Mr Lahiff holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Sydney University and has participated in the General Management Programme at the London Business School. Mr Lahiff is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Journal of Retail Financial Services and was recently voted Business Queensland’s "Chief Executive of the Year".
