The first dimension of our philosophy is that everyone should be a shareholder in the company - not just those at senior levels. PA is a staff-owned company where we all think and act as owners - not just as employees. Each year, dependent on personal, practice/function and company performance, bonuses are paid to staff. A percentage of bonus is paid in deferred shares; the remainder of the bonus is paid in cash. For those who do well and amass a high level of shares over time, there is an opportunity to build up significant wealth. PA shares may be bought only by PA employees and they are in high demand from all.
The second dimension is that of base salary and bonus. We pay salaries around the market median, plus high bonuses to those who add great value in their work for our clients. Top performers can also look forward to swift promotion and gains in total compensation if they continue to do well. Thus salary plus bonus usually significantly exceed competitors’ levels of compensation for high performers. In this way, PA is attractive to talented people who believe in themselves.
The final dimension of our philosophy is to reward those who stay with PA and help build it as a company. Bonus shares may be redeemed over a three-year period (after five years for the most senior consulting staff). As a result, it is those who stay with PA and help build it for the long term who see the greatest returns to their shareholdings, and the greatest build-up of wealth.
