An industrial placement at PA provides students with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of working for a leading management, systems and technology consulting firm. Your experience should help you to make an informed career choice and will contribute greatly to your personal and professional development. You will work alongside senior consultants and be given the opportunity to express your ideas, think creatively and work independently.
Training and development
At PA we provide an environment for constant learning, and training is an important feature of life here. All our placement students attend a three-day global induction programme which provides a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with PA, to learn about our business and to understand our culture and methodologies. Additional training will be provided to meet your individual development needs and aspirations. For example, our placement students attend a Web development course, which provides them with hands-on experience of creating Web pages, graphics for intranet sites, and simple programming.
Much of your development will take place at our head office in London. However, you may have an opportunity to work on a client site, working with clients under the supervision of more experienced consultants. Our information centre will provide you with a wide variety of books and multimedia training materials. You will receive ongoing feedback and support from your line manager and mentor, who are responsible for helping you with your skill development. Finally, you are also encouraged to network with the other industrial placement students, allowing you to share experiences and collaborate on projects.
