Malware Targets Vulnerable Admin Accounts

Ed Savage, a cyber security expert at PA Consulting Group, is quoted in The Wall Street Journal on the security risk employees can cause to their employers.

The article looks at how malicious links that employees click on can impact a company’s security. Ed shares a case study about a US company where an assistant clicked on a malicious link:  “She didn’t realize that malicious code had been placed on her computer, but when it began to run slowly, she contacted an IT administrator who tried to find the problem. He typed an admin login and a password into her computer, which the hackers then stole, gaining administrative credentials.”
