PA’s Uli Brunner, energy expert, has been quoted in an article on gas and nuclear energy in Platts International Gas Report.
Nuclear produces virtually no CO2 emissions and although gas is cleaner, it still produces greenhouse gases. With the UK aiming to cut greenhouse emissions, Uli addresses carbon capture and storage (CCS) - a solution the government is looking at to ensure emissions are cut by 2050.
Uli says: “I don’t think CCS will fly for a long time. There are a lot of issues to address such as stopping CO2 leaks and underground storage could be very costly."
