Cybersecurity: a layered approach is best

The threat of a cyber attack is a daily reality for business, reports the Financial Times in The Connected Business special report on cyber security. PA’s Dan Haagman, IT security expert, gives his view on the threat that businesses face.

Dan says: “It is uncommon for businesses to understand their information assets fully, and we see money, time and effort spent on a piecemeal approach to combating cybercrime.”

Dan goes on to comment:“In larger organisations, service support may be done by the parent company while individual business units own the data. The interface between them begins to fail.”
