PA’s Energy expert Ryan Hardy is quoted in an article on capacity markets, taking a close look at two congested load areas: New Jersey and Maryland.
Because state regulators in the Northeast have chafed against capacity markets since they started, Ryan says other states are watching New Jersey and Maryland closely.
In the article, Ryan notes that overcapacity could evaporate as new Environmental Protection Agency rules tighten coal plant restrictions.
