Sustainable tourism workshop for tour operators

PA prepared and facilitated a workshop in Rimini, Italy, for the Tour Operators Initiative for Sustainable Tourism, to assist its members to implement a corporate statement of commitment to the principles and practices of sustainable tourism.  Over 30 individuals, representing tour operators and environmental organizations, attended the workshop, which covered supply chain management, destination management, environmental reporting, communication and other topics of common interest.  Members of the Initiative include: TUI, British Airways Holidays, Thompson Travel Group, Scandinavian Leisure Group, among others, who together account for over 30 million leisure trips per year.  The workshop report, which PA drafted, is available on the Initiative’s Web site: www.toinitiative.org
