Taking a giant step towards transforming its airfreight business
The Cargo Division of Malaysia Airlines System (MASkargo) realised they need to transform the way they run their business so as to capture future business opportunities, and to further improve its profitability while operating under a very challenging business environment.
This was partly in response to the rapid growth of its airfreight business due to the massive increase in off-shoring of manufacturing to Asia, and to cope with the soaring aviation fuel prices that put immense pressure on its profitability.
MASkargo commissioned PA to conduct an in-depth study into the information and system needs of the business. One of the outcomes of the study, as recommended by PA and endorsed by MASkargo management, was to improve existing management information and business decision support capabilities through deployment of appropriate IT technologies.
