Eliminating the need for end-to-end quality of service monitoring
The industry currently invests a significant amount of cost and resources in this area. If tagging technology could be evolved to the extent where it was cost effective to incorporate tagging technology on each mail-piece, the business could eliminate standalone quality activity and obtain much better diagnostic information to drive performance improvement.
Eliminating failed deliveries for proof of delivery (POD) items
Where no one is available to sign for a POD item, the delivery agent has to return the item to the delivery office – either for re-delivery or for customer collection. If tagging technologies could be adapted to overcome this issue, the postal operator would realize efficiencies and provide better customer service.
