Through this USAID funded Program, PA is providing technical assistance to the Government of Armenia to help extend reforms, improve the performance of water sector management and regulatory institutions and increase public awareness and participation in the process.
In order to help the government to fully implement the Water Code, the governing law on water management and regulatory issues, PA is working with government institutions managing and regulating the water sector to proceed with legal and regulatory reforms. In addition, PA is co-ordinating activities with the Armenian National Assembly to increase public awareness of the proposed reforms and promote civil society involvement in the policy reform process.

PA is working with key government organizations to increase the clarity of the water institutions' responsibilities. Once the government organizations have clearly defined roles, responsibilities and operating rules, then improved co-ordination and data sharing will follow. This will help to establish a solid foundation in the water sector for the further development of the regulating and managing organizations.
