Recent challenges in the defence sector require governments and industry to collaborate more closely than ever.
PA has relationships and knowledge across the defence sector, strong commercial experience and insight into the strategic drivers for change for both the government and industry. As such, we have brokered a number of highly effective partnering relationships.
Our experience is that a partnering approach will be most successful when the interested parties:
- establish a common purpose
- develop a performance-related regime
- build a joint management and capability framework
- drive change to build a truly collaborative relationship.
However, partnering is not just a one-off process. A true approach to partnering extends beyond its initial establishment. It requires continuous effort during the life of the relationship if collaboration to be sustained as the organisations respond to the dynamic challenges that they face daily.
PA’s Partnering Diagnostic framework can be used to assess the current status of a partnering relationship between two organisations or to assess the perceptions of the partnering relationship within each of the organisations.
It provides an opportunity to track the development of the relationship and allows mangers to focus on the areas that need attention in order to enhance collaboration and the performance of the partnering relationship, to their mutual benefit.
