Ensuring a competitive cost base is vital for any communication organisation in order to survive in a maturing voice market. To some extent cost can be controlled by periodic tightening of financial and resource constraints. Significant changes to cost reduction, however, comes from making practical changes to the propositions the organisation takes to the market, the way it operates to deliver those propositions and the infrastructure it employs.
PA has seen that cost reduction programmes can not only drive out cost from a business but also drive up the level of customer service. This has been embedded into PA’s approach for cost reduction. Firstly PA understands the customer value that the business is seeking to create and then works with the business to ensure:
- The propositions and outcomes focus on what customers really value
- All activity and infrastructure is focused on value adding activity and that the work flows efficiently through the business, including across organisational boundaries.
- The result is both a permanent reduction in the effort and cost needed to deliver to the market. By working with client teams PA creates a shift in the companies thinking to make cost control a part of the long term culture of the organisation.
