The economic environment in which emerging companies now do business is still difficult, with little appetite from banks and investors for risky, long-term investments.
So how can emerging technology companies improve their chances of success in the marketplace? How can they find new and better ways to access funds, deploy the right expertise at the right time and reduce risks for investors? How can they make limited cash stretch further whilst achieving their strategic objectives? How can the technology hubs of the future play a vital role in advancing technology in the UK? What is the appropriate role of Government in supporting high tech innovation?
At our seminar in Cambridge, we were delighted to have guest speakers Hermann Hauser and George Freeman MP, who have considerable experience working with emerging companies and high tech venture capital to offer their perspectives on these critical and challenging questions.
Hermann Hauser, Partner and co-founder of Amadeus Capital Partners Ltd, will offer a view from the investors' perspective. Hermann has a long and successful history as an entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He has founded or co-founded companies in a wide range of technology sectors.
George Freeman MP, founder of 4D Biomedical Ltd, the Cambridge-based translational medicine business, was elected to Parliament this year after a 15 year career in ‘biotech’ including spells as a VC, founder and adviser to various biomedical ventures. George specialises in Parliament on innovation and high technology growth. He is Chairman of the All Party Group on Science and Technology in Agriculture.
