It is with pleasure that we invite you to attend PA Consulting Group's breakfast event in October, which will explore the challenges today’s businesses face around sales and operations planning.

Since the early days of sales and operations planning (S&OP), the business world has changed dramatically. When the approach was launched in the early 80s, Western markets faced high inflation, low growth, and the world was politically stable. In addition, the challenges around systematic and comprehensive demand forecasting – the cornerstone of S&OP – were far less complex than those faced by industry today. The defeat of communism, 9/11, the information age, and two subsequent financial crises have forced businesses to take a fresh look at S&OP as an integrative approach to business planning and administration.
Today, a piece of legislation passed in India can have a greater and more imminent effect on the demand for luxury cars than any macro-economic trend analysis could have predicted. And a social-media-fuelled hype around alleged malpractices in the manufacturing sites of a shoes and apparel maker can result in tumbling consumer demand the very next day. An effective approach to S&OP must be able to incorporate and make sense of these complexities.
This October, PA will host a round-table breakfast discussion for CCOs and decision-makers in sales (operations) and marketing to jointly explore questions such as ‘what are the CCO’s top priorities around S&OP today?’ and ‘how is S&OP becoming increasingly critical for the service industry?’
