Showcase and awards reception for PA's Raspberry Pi-making competition
PA Consulting Group, in collaboration with the Raspberry Pi Foundation, challenged teams from schools and universities, as well as individual inventors, to make the world a better place using a Raspberry Pi. The videos below give a taster of the projects that made it to the finals.
Here is just a taster of the incredible entries we have received:
-
a lap-time recording device for running clubs, to enable different schools to share results online and create a league
-
an educational game to measure the maths achievements of primary school children
-
a device for monitoring the energy being used by a house's lights and central heating
-
an automated schoolwork and homework distribution/collection device
-
a system to simulate the occupation of a household, controlling house lights to deter opportunistic burglars
-
a fact-learning game for nine to 12-year-olds
-
encryption software to provide extra security for computers
-
a small unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) to deliver packages around a school.
PA's technology experts in Cambridge recently used a Raspberry Pi to shrink a 30-foot mobile base-station. Click here to watch the video of how this was done. For more information on PA's expertise in technology and innovation, please click here.
